The "Managing Environmental Responsibilities" certificate issued by IOSH is nationally recognised and identifies the holder as one who, in a position of responsibility, understands the environmental issues relating to working processes and has developed an understanding of how to manage them.

Course Venue This IOSH Managing Environmental Responsibilities course is held at our Birmingham Conference Venue (Just 1 mile from M42 Junction 3 Exit at Becketts Farm).

Course Aims The aim of this course is to ensure that people in positions of responsibility appreciate the environmental issues relating to their working processes and develop an understanding of how to manage them.

Who Should Attend The IOSH Managing Environmental Responsibilities course is aimed at people involved in company environmental improvement programmes and/or environmental management systems. The course is designed to be useful to delegates who have recently become involved in environmental management or for whom environmental management is an integral part of a wide range of responsibilities.

The course is divided into 3 Modules:

Environmental sustainability - developing an understanding of the issues, pressures and opportunities associated with environmental management in an organisation

Legal issues - providing an overview of current UK environmental legislation and its implications for business and/or the public sector

Managing environmental performance including:
* The methods and principles behind the identification of an organisation`s significant environmental aspects
* Environmental management systems - ISO14001 and EMAS
* An overview of the control and improvement techniques used to manage waste, energy and pollution prevention within an organisation

Course Tutor Our health and safety consultants are qualified and experienced professionals with an appropriate background in risk management. All consultants as a minimum hold professional membership of the chartered Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).

Certification At the conclusion of the course, delegates are required to undertake a multi-format assessment and a short workplace based practical project. Understanding of the course material is evaluated by means of this 45-minute written assessment paper consisting of 20 multi-format questions and a practical assessment. Delegates must then complete their work-based project and return it to us within 14 days of the course end date. An IOSH ‘Managing Environmental Responsibilities’ certificate is awarded to all those who attend the course and successfully complete both the written and practical assessments.
