Fork Lift Truck Operator Training

This course is designed for any employee who is required to use forklift trucks, either on a full time basis or as part of their normal work activities.
Theory: -
Introduction
Causes of Forklift Truck Accidents
Responsibilities under the HASAWA, LOLER and PUWER
Principles of Stability
Rated Capacity (including; de-rating factors and weight assessment)
Operator’s Safety Codes
Environmental awareness and site specific hazards
Theory test
Practical: -
Introduction to the lift truck, including control layout and functions
Pre-use inspection and fault reporting procedures
Refueling or battery charging/changing procedures
Mounting and dismounting, starting, driving and stopping the truck
Steering in an open and confined areas (un laden and laden)
Hydraulic system
Handling loads at ground and higher levels dependent on truck type and application
Driving on/off ramps (as applicable)
Vehicle loading/unloading (as applicable to truck type and application)
Operator’s practical skills test

Certification:
Each course delegate will be given a theoretical test (multi-choice format) to assess their job related safety knowledge and a practical skills test to assess their operating skills. A certificate of training will be awarded to successful candidates.

All training is carried out in-house at your UK site premises by one of our fully qualified, experienced fork lift truck instructors tailored to suit your specific requirements and held on date(s) to suit you with training start times from 7.30am to fit in with delegates working hours.
